FWS 52nd Annual Exhibition

Florida Watercolor Society announces the 52nd Annual Exhibition to be held at Webber Gallery, 3001 SW College Road, Ocala, FL 34474. Hours: Monday - Thursday 10am-4pm; Closed Friday - Sunday.

Eligibility: Qualifying Associate/Participating, Life, and Sponsor (Diamond or Platinum) Members of Florida Watercolor Society in good standing with current 2023 dues by March 31, 2023. Basic members are not eligible. Artists may submit one or two digital images of original paintings for judging. Entry fee is $35 for one entry and $40 for two entries, paid through CaFE with MasterCard, Visa, or PayPal. Accepted work requires shipping or hand delivery with handling fees: $10 hand-delivery, $30 for AirFloat or MasterPak boxes, or $45 for other shipping boxes.

Artwork Requirements: Minimum size 80 square inches (not including mat or frame). Maximum framed size must not exceed 60" on the longest side. All entries must be created after January 1, 2021, and not previously shown in any FWS Online or Annual Exhibition. Artwork must be the artist's own original idea, composition, and design, painted by hand. All reference materials must be created by the artist; purchased images, stock photos, photos by others, internet images, published materials, and vintage family photos are not permitted. Eligible artwork is limited to water-soluble watermedia on surfaces specifically for watermedia (excluding canvas) and framed under Plexiglas or sealed with varnish on cradled board. Collage is acceptable only if made from paper painted by the artist in watermedia. Photographs, printed words, reproductions, and digitally created work are not permitted. Printing and stamping using eligible watermedia is allowed if the entire entry is not a single print and includes hand painting with a brush. All stamps and stencils must be artist-created; commercially available stamps are not allowed.

Awards: Monetary and merchandise awards totaling over $20,000 including two optional purchase awards of $1,500. Awards presentation is scheduled for Saturday, September 30th at the Gala Awards Dinner. Juror of Selection and Awards Judge: Andy Evansen. The 2023 FWS Convention & Trade Show will be held at the Hilton Ocala Hotel from September 28-30.
