FWS 51st Annual Exhibition

The Florida Watercolor Society's 51st Annual Exhibition will be hosted by the Visual Arts Center in Punta Gorda, FL, running from Wednesday, September 14th through Monday, November 14th, 2022. The Artists' Reception will be held on Friday, September 23rd from 5:30 - 7:30 pm. Judge Mark Mehaffey will select 100 pieces from entries to exhibit, plus five alternates. Awards totaling over $20,000 will be presented at an Awards Gala on Saturday, September 24th.

Eligible Florida Watercolor Society members in good standing may submit one or two digital images of original paintings for jurying. Eligible artwork is limited to water-soluble water media (no water-soluble oil products or pastels) on surfaces specifically for watermedia, framed under Plexiglas or sealed with varnish. Canvas is no longer accepted. All entries must have been created after January 1, 2020, and not previously shown in any FWS exhibition. Work painted in a live or online class with instructor direction is not eligible. Collage is acceptable if created with paper painted by you in watermedia; no newspaper, metallic papers, foils, or additional materials are permitted. Gelli prints are not accepted. Photographs, reproductions, digital media, diptychs, and triptychs are not permitted.

Entries are accepted from Sunday, April 3rd through Tuesday, June 7th, 2022 at 11:59 pm via CaFE only. New members must join by May 28th, 2022 on the FWS website before entering. Existing members' dues ($40) must be paid on the FWS website before the entry deadline. The non-refundable entry fee is $35 for one entry and $40 for two entries, paid through CaFE with MasterCard or Visa. Only one painting per artist may be accepted for the exhibition. Framed work must not exceed 55 inches on the outside dimension of the longest side. All unvarnished and matted work must be framed under acrylic (Plexiglas); glass is not accepted.
