FWS 50th Annual Exhibition

The FWS 50th Annual Exhibition will be hosted by the Coral Springs Museum of Art in Coral Springs, FL, running from September 4 through November 15, 2021. The Artists' Reception will be held on Friday, September 24th, 5:30 - 7:30 pm. Due to uncertainty regarding venue operation due to COVID-19, if the venue is closed, the exhibition will be held on the FWS website.

Eligible Florida Watercolor Society members in good standing with current dues may submit one or two digital images for jurying. Eligible artwork is limited to water-soluble water media (no water-soluble oil products or pastels). Paintings may be created on all surfaces specifically for water media and framed under Plexiglas or sealed with varnish, including paintings mounted to or painted on a cradled board. Only original work is eligible—the painting must be your own composition in concept and design, painted only by you by hand from your own sketches, photos, or other source materials created by you. Photo reference material must have been taken by you; purchased images, permission-granted photos taken by others, stock photos, and published or unpublished copyrighted images are not allowed. Vintage heirloom photos of people from your own family may be used as reference within the composition. All entries must have been created after January 1, 2019, and not previously shown in any FWS Online or Annual Exhibition. Work painted in a live or online class or workshop with the help or direction of an instructor is not eligible. Collage is acceptable if created with approved paper painted by you in water media in an aqueous manner. Photographs, reproductions, digital media or images, diptychs, or triptychs are not permitted.

Entries are accepted through June 5, 2021 at 11:59 pm via CaFE only. New members must join by May 29, 2021 on the FWS website before entering. Existing members' dues ($40) must be paid on the FWS website before entry. The non-refundable entry fee is $35 for one entry and $40 for two entries, paid through CaFE with MasterCard, Visa, or PayPal. Keiko Tanabe, AWS, NWS, NAWA, AIS will select 100 pieces from the entries to show, plus five Alternates. Awards include monetary and merchandise awards, plus two $1500 Purchase Awards, totaling over $20,000 (subject to change). Only one painting per artist may be accepted for the Exhibition.
