FWS 49th Annual Exhibition

The FWS 49th Annual Exhibition is an online-only exhibition held on the FWS website from September 19, 2020 through Summer 2021. Judge Michael Reardon (AWS, NWS, WW, CWA) will select 100 pieces from entries to display, plus five alternates.

Eligibility is limited to Florida Watercolor Society members in good standing with current dues. Members may submit one or two digital images for jurying. Eligible artwork must be created using water-soluble water media on surfaces specifically for water media and framed under Plexiglas or sealed with varnish. Only original work is eligible—paintings must be your own composition and design, painted only by you from your own sketches, photos, or source materials created by you. Work must have been created after January 1, 2018, and not previously shown in any FWS Online or Annual Exhibition. Work painted in a class or workshop with instructor help or direction is not eligible. Collage is acceptable if created with approved paper painted by the artist in water media. Photographs, reproductions, digital media, diptychs, and triptychs are not permitted.

Entry deadline is August 15, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. MDT via CaFE. New members must join by August 7, 2020 on the FWS website; existing members' dues ($40) must be paid before the entry deadline. The non-refundable entry fee is $35 for one entry and $40 for two entries. Digital images must be sized at 1920 pixels on the longest side by 72 dpi, file size less than 5 megabytes. Awards include monetary and merchandise awards plus two $1500 Purchase Awards. Notification of accepted work will be sent on or before September 6, 2020. Paintings must be priced for sale or marked NFS (Not for Sale); FWS does not take commission on sold work.
