FWS 2021 Online Show

The Florida Watercolor Society is accepting entries for the 2021 Online Show, an online exhibition open to eligible watercolor artists. Entries are accepted from October 3rd through November 28th, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. MST.

Eligibility: Non-Signature Members of FWS in good standing with current dues, or new members who join by November 23rd, 2020, are eligible to enter. Signature Members of FWS, NWS, or AWS are not eligible. Non-Signature Members of FWS who won an Award in the 49th Annual Exhibition are not eligible. Signature members of other local, regional, and state watercolor organizations are eligible. Residency restrictions apply—you must be a full- or part-time Florida resident. Eligible artwork is limited to water-soluble media (no water-soluble oil products or pastels). Acrylic and alcohol inks are acceptable; India ink is not permitted. All paintings must be on approved surfaces created for watermedia, including watercolor paper, white rice paper, clay-coated surfaces (Claybord, Aquabord), synthetic surfaces (Yupo, Tygerag, Terraskin), illustration board, and flat, unstretched watercolor canvas. Collage is acceptable if made from paper painted by the artist in water media. Photographs, reproductions, digital media, and digitally created work are not permitted. All entries must have been completed after January 1, 2018, and not previously shown in any FWS Annual or Online Exhibitions. Source material must be original and not derived from published images or copied from another artist's or photographer's work. Minimum image size is 8" x 10". There are no framing restrictions.

Submission Requirements: Entries must be made online via CaFE. Images must be between 1800-1920 pixels on the long side at 72 dpi, saved as jpeg. Entry fee is $15 per image for up to three images, payable online through CaFE (Mastercard or Visa) or PayPal. Each artist may enter up to three paintings, but no more than one entry per artist may be accepted to show. Judge Sandy Maudlin will select up to 100 images. Awards include $1000 for First Place, $500 for Second Place, $300 for Third Place, and three Merit Awards of $100 each. Award winners will have the opportunity to display their original work in the FWS Booth at the 50th Annual Convention & Trade Show in Coral Springs, FL in September 2021.
