About This Call

Fort Worth Public Art, a City of Fort Worth program managed by the Arts Council of Fort Worth, maintains a Pre-Qualified List to streamline the selection process for public art commissions. The list is open to any professional artist or artist team age 18 years or older working in any media. Artists selected for the Pre-Qualified List will be considered for upcoming public art commissions.

Texas and National Established Public Artists must demonstrate experience with public art projects, materials suitable for public indoor and outdoor settings, site-specific design, collaboration with other artists, designers, architects, engineers, fabricators, city officials and staff, and gathering input from the community. Future public art projects for which Pre-Qualified Established Artists may be commissioned include artwork for street and transportation improvements, parks, recreation and community center improvements, libraries, fire stations, and other municipal facilities. A Capital Improvement Program passed in 2014 allows for the implementation of new public art projects with budgets ranging from $100,000 to $300,000.

Submissions must include an artist statement (2000 character limit), letter of interest (2000 character limit), current resume, ten images of completed past artwork with title, medium, dimensions, date completed, project budget, location and commissioning agency, and three references. Artists who submit all required materials by the deadline will be reviewed by a panel composed of art and design professionals, including two members of the Fort Worth Art Commission. Results will be announced June 9, 2015. Placement on the Pre-Qualified List does not guarantee a commission. For questions, email [email protected].
