Future of the Arts 2019

Future of the Arts 2019 is the R.G. Endres Gallery's 6th annual juried competition for grades 1-12. The exhibition runs during January with an awards Gala Reception on Friday, January 11th, 2019 at 6:00 PM.

Eligibility is open to all residents of the Kansas City metro area and surrounding suburban cities for children in grades 1-12 who attend public, private, and home schools. Eligible artwork includes all 2D and 3D art of any media, performance art including music, theatrical performance including dance, and all forms of literature. All artwork must be created by or performed by the student. Entry fee is $5 per student entry. Students may enter multiple times, but only one piece per artist will be selected for the final round of judging.

Prizes include art scholarships, supplies, and enhancements totaling more than $3,000 in value, including four $300 college scholarships for grades 10-12. Gift awards will be given to winners of each age group (grades 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12). For 2D and 3D art, one entry is allowed per artist, but up to 3 pieces can be submitted. For performances, a short two-minute video is required. For literature, a photo of the complete work is required. All tangible artwork must be for sale with a 30% sales commission to the gallery. Prices listed at entry are binding and cannot be changed after submission. Selected performances may be adjudicated live at the Gala Reception. Selected literature will be read live by the author. Framed 2D and 3D artwork must be delivered to Prairie Village City Hall on Wednesday, January 2nd, 2019. Submission deadline: Sunday, December 12, 2018.
