About This Call
Future of the Arts 2016 is a juried competition held annually in April at the R.G. Endres Gallery. The exhibition runs during April with a gala reception on April 14th at 6:00 PM.
Eligibility is open to all residents of the Kansas City metro area and surrounding suburban cities, for children in grades 1-12 who attend public or private schools. Eligible artwork includes all 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional art of any media, performance art including music, theatrical performance including dance, and all forms of literature. All artwork must be created by or performed by the student. Entry fee is $5 per student. Each student may enter art as many times as they like (each with a $5.00 fee), although only one piece per artist will be allowed in the final round of judging.
For 2D and 3D art, one entry is allowed per artist. For performances, a short two-minute video of the performance is required. For literature, the complete short story, poem, etc., is required. All tangible artwork must be for sale with a 40% sales commission to the gallery. Prices listed on entry are binding and cannot be changed after submission. The City of Prairie Village provides insurance for artwork selected for the show up to a value of $5,000. For entry financial assistance, contact [email protected]. For more information, contact Julie Flanagan at [email protected] or 913-710-6804.
