About This Call
Call for Artists: IEA International Juried Exhibition 2013
Exhibition Title: "Fusion: People, Passion, Place" encaustiCon® 2013 International Juried Exhibition. The competition is open to all artists working anywhere in the world, 18 years of age and older. Submitted artwork must be original 2-D or 3-D encaustic works conceived and created entirely by the artist. Artwork created under the supervision of an instructor or works created while in a workshop are not eligible. The medium is restricted to encaustic. While mixed media artwork is acceptable, all works must contain a preponderance of wax as the major component. Film, video, crafts, and jewelry will not be accepted. For 2-D, accepted artwork must be between 12" minimum and 72" maximum on any side. For 3-D, accepted artwork may not exceed 72" H x 30" W x 72" D, may not exceed 150 pounds, must fit through a standard-sized door, and be easily and safely carried by two adults.
Entry Fees (non-refundable, maximum of six entries): For IEA members: $25 (first 3 entries); $10 for each additional entry. For non-IEA members: $35 (first 3 entries); $10 for each additional entry. Membership in IEA is not a requirement for entry. IEA members may obtain a discount coupon code in the member section of the IEA website. All entries will be accepted online at https://www.callforentry.org/ (CaFÉ). Submission requires 3-6 JPEG images in RGB color mode.
Jurors: Rod Lambert, Community Gallery Manager for the City of Santa Fe Arts Commission, and Bonny Leibowitz, owner of The Encaustic Center in Dallas, Texas. Cash Prizes: 1st Place - $750; 2nd Place - $500; 3rd Place - $250; "Honorable Mention Awards," one to five at the jurors' discretion. Exhibition Venue: Eggman & Walrus, 130 W. Palace Ave, 2nd Fl., Santa Fe, NM 87501. Exhibition Dates: November 1-17, 2013. Opening Reception and Awards Announcement: November 1, 2013, 7 pm – 9 pm. Artwork delivery deadline: October 28, 2013 (mailed) or October 29, 2013 (hand-delivered). Hand-delivered artwork will be accepted on October 29, 2013, between 12:00 pm and 5:00 pm at Eggman & Walrus. Mailed works should be shipped to: encaustiCon® 2013 Juried Exhibition Entry, Attn: Russell Thurston, 8 Caliente Place, Santa Fe, NM 87508. All artwork submitted for this exhibition must be for sale. Eggman & Walrus will receive a 50% commission on all sales. Artists are responsible for insurance during shipment and of any unsold artwork during transit back.
