Fun House 2021: Art of the Surreal, Fantastic, & Bizarre

Fun House 2021 reimagines Barrett Art Center's gallery spaces as the site for all that a Fun House offers: the marvelous, disorienting, seductive, disquieting, and surreal. The exhibition invites artistic approaches to these concepts across a variety of media including painting, photography, sculpture, wearable art, digital art, textiles, ceramics, installation, and video. Selected artwork will be presented in BAC's intimate galleries within a 1840s Greek Revival townhouse, creating a visually-compelling setting for contemporary and cutting-edge work.

The exhibition runs May 8 – June 19, 2021. Juror: Silvia Cubiñá, Executive Director and Chief Curator, Bass Museum of Art, Miami. Artists will be notified approximately three weeks after the deadline about the selection status of their entries. Prizes include $500 Juror's Prize, $250 Second Prize, and $125 Honorable Mention.

Entry fee: $35 for non-members ($30 for BAC members) for the first three images plus $5 for each additional image up to 15. Work sample requirements: 3-15 total samples, with a maximum of 15 images and 3 videos. Maximum artwork dimensions are 85" height by 120" width; all artwork must arrive in packing that fits through a standard door frame.
