Fun House 2018: Art of the Surreal, Fantastic, and Bizarre

Fun House 2018: Art of the Surreal, Fantastic, and Bizarre is a national juried art exhibition held at Barrett Art Center in Poughkeepsie, New York. The exhibition runs from Saturday, May 12 through Saturday, June 23, 2018. The exhibition invites artwork submissions that celebrate the marvelous, disorienting, seductive, disquieting, and surreal. Fun House seeks works that engage with the real/unreal, the miniature and the gigantic, optics and illusion, and/or the politics of display. The exhibition welcomes the quirky, the absurd, and the unconventional, and invites artists to provide a juxtaposition of traditional styles and cutting-edge practices. In addition to 2D works in all media and sculpture, installation, digital, video and interactive works are all encouraged. The galleries are located in a restored landmark 1840s brick Greek Revival townhouse.

The exhibition is juried by Danijela Krha Purssey, Co-Founder and Editor of Beautiful Bizarre Magazine, and Istvan Banyai, illustrator, animator, and designer. Awards include two $500 Juror's Prizes and two $150 Distinguished Recognition Prizes.

Entry deadline is March 12, 2018. Entry fee is $35.00 for non-members ($25.00 for BAC members) for the first three images, plus $5.00 for each additional image.
