"Full Circle" Western Cast Iron Juried Exhibition Professional/Student

The Western Cast Iron Art Alliance, Incorporated is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization consisting of iron casting artists in the western states that has existed since 2008 to educate, demonstrate, and exhibit cast iron art in the region. The Western conference travels to a different location with each meeting and is conceived to communicate, educate, and celebrate while facilitating and inspiring art lovers to gain a better understanding and appreciation of cast iron as a sculpture medium. The "Full Circle" Western Cast Iron Juried Exhibition occurs in conjunction with the 8th Biennial Conference at Grossmont College, El Cajon, CA, October 30–November 3, 2024.

Two separate exhibitions are offered: Student (open to conference participants currently enrolled in an educational institution) and Professional (open to conference participants not currently enrolled in an educational institution). Artwork should include iron as sculpture, image, photograph, print, pigment, or other forms. Iron can be the primary medium or incorporated with additional media and should express individual personal concept while celebrating craft, process, and creative design. Both exhibitions offer awards for Best of Show and WCIAA Board Members Award.

Entry fee is $25. Submission deadline is August 27, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Applicants may submit up to three images of 1-3 works total for the conference. Images must be no smaller than 1200 pixels in one direction and 72 dpi, labeled with artist's last name, category (student or professional), and number (e.g., Artist's last name_student_1.jpg). Detail shots should be labeled accordingly. Juror notification is September 1, 2024. Shipped artwork arrives September 25, 2024; hand-delivered artwork is due Wednesday, September 25. The exhibition opens to the public October 7, 2024, with a reception October 31st. All artwork must be collected Sunday, November 3, 2024, 9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. Works must be ready to hang with specific installation details provided.
