About This Call
The Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County is seeking original artwork from contemporary artists working with organic materials including wood and paper in two-dimensional and sculptural forms. This juried exhibition highlights the expressive capacity and growing sophistication of these materials through evolving techniques and aesthetics.

All 2-D work must arrive ready to hang with no plastic box frames, uni-frames, or sawtooth hangers. Digital entries must be submitted through CaFE by August 7, 2017. Accepted artists will be notified by email by August 10, 2017. All accepted works must be received by Friday, August 18, 2017. The exhibition runs from August 25 through October 21, 2019.
Cash awards total $1,500, with First Place receiving $750. Sales are encouraged; the Arts Council retains a 30% commission on sold works. If work is not for sale, an insurance value must be placed on the entry form. The exhibition will be promoted through press releases, print ads in regional publications, and digital promotions including the Arts Council's website and e-blast. For information or help, contact Calvin Mims at Ellington-White Community Development Corp., (910) 483-1388.
