From the Light of the Silvery Moon

From the Light of the Silvery Moon: Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon Landing is an exhibition at the Evansville Museum of Arts, History and Science. Artists of all backgrounds and mediums are invited to submit works centered around nocturnal themes, solar system or planetarium subjects, and the 1960s. All work must be original, completed within the last three years, and not previously exhibited at the Evansville Museum.

The competition is open to all mediums, including photography. Entries must not exceed 108 inches in any direction and/or 150 pounds. Large sculpture should be weatherproofed for outdoor display. No entry that requires the artist to be present for moving or assembly will be accepted. The $50.00 entry fee entitles entrants to submit up to two entries. Payment may be made by check, money order, or credit card. Checks must be received at the museum no later than May 15th to be eligible for the jurying process. Entries by mail will not be accepted.

Works selected for exhibition will be received hand delivered or shipped prepaid from May 28th–June 7th, 2019. The exhibition runs June 23–August 18, 2019, with an Awards Reception on Thursday, June 27th from 6:00–8:00 p.m. CST. Over $1,000 in merit awards will be presented at the opening reception. Exhibited work may be claimed August 20th–30th, 2019. All works accepted for exhibition will be insured while on the premises at a value agreeable to the artist and the Museum, with a maximum insurance value of $4,000.00. The Museum takes a 20% commission for the sale of works from this exhibition. Shipped work will be returned in the method it was received, with all shipping costs and liability for damage the responsibility of the artist.
