About This Call
Visionary Art Collective is partnering with Warnes Contemporary in New York City to present From the Ground Up, an annual in-person juried group exhibition curated by Erika b Hess. Submissions are invited across all disciplines that engage landscape—urban or rural, real or imagined, material or symbolic.
From the Ground Up: Contemporary Landscape explores how artists investigate the landscape today. The exhibition frames landscape as a point of departure rather than a fixed view, serving as a jumping off point for artistic inquiry. Work ranges from abstracted terrains and constructed environments to fleeting moments of light in plein air, with artists engaging the landscape to examine perception and how it relates to culture, politics, and memory.
Eligibility is international. Eligible categories include Craft/Traditional Arts, Photography, Drawing, Film/Video/New Media, Mixed-Media/Multi-Discipline, Painting, and Sculpture. Entry fees are $25 for 1-2 images, $30 for 3-4 images, or $35 for 5-6 images. Submission deadline is December 14, 2025.
