From the Earth

Artists are invited to submit original artwork for the From the Earth exhibit at the Kavanagh Gallery of Fine Line Creative Arts Center in St. Charles, Illinois. This show will look at raw materials taken from the earth and transformed into functional or decorative art. The artwork submitted must be created from clay, wood, or metal, or any combination of the three. The show runs from June 29 – August 9, 2023.

This 2-D and 3-D show is open to artists 18 years and older residing in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, or Wisconsin. Work must have been completed in the last three years and must not have been previously shown at Fine Line. Up to 3 pieces may be submitted, with one image per piece. All pieces must be for sale. The entry fee is $35.00. Jury decisions are based on creativity, quality of artistry, and originality. Artists will be notified of jury decisions via email on or before May 26, 2023. $800 in prizes will be awarded.

Artists are responsible for shipping artwork to and from Fine Line Creative Arts Center and must include a return shipping label. Insurance during shipping is the artist's responsibility. The show will charge a 30% sales commission for any artwork sold. Fine Line will handle all sales, sales tax, and provide artists with a check after the show ends. Artists have the option to also put their work for sale on the Fine Line website during the show, with Fine Line handling all taxes and shipping costs for online sales. The Kavanagh Gallery has grey pedestals available for use. Hanging work should have wire and screw eyes; no saw-tooth hangers or clip frames. Fine Line provides 24/7 security and video monitoring, with insurance coverage from receipt of work until the show's end valued at 70% of the sale price.
