From Pigment to Pixels, an All-Member Online Exhibition

From Pigment to Pixels is an all-member online exhibition for Baltimore Watercolor Society members only. All submissions will be displayed in an online exhibition at https://baltimorewatercolorsociety.smugmug.com/ and on other BWS digital sites and social media.

Eight award-winning paintings will be selected by a non-member juror. Four award winners will be featured on the LED Baltimore Art Billboard (a 52-foot by 42-foot screen displaying images for 10 seconds every 1-2 minutes, 24 hours a day for 3-4 days) and on a dedicated exhibition webpage on the Baltimore Watercolor Society website. All eight award winners will be featured on the same dedicated BWS webpage starting January 8, 2025 for one year. The online exhibition will remain online indefinitely. Award winners will be asked to provide a short artist's statement for the webpage.

Eligibility: BWS members only. Submissions must be original watermedia paintings (watercolor, gouache, ink, acrylic applied in an aqueous manner, casein, egg tempera, or combinations thereof). No impasto applications. Collage elements are permitted if original work on watermedia paper. Paintings cannot be included in any ongoing BWS exhibition. No AI-generated or AI-assisted work is permitted. Submitted artwork may not be a copy or direct derivative of another person's work; if based on a photo, it must be your own. Entry fee: $10. One image required (JPG/JPEG, 72 DPI or higher, minimum 2560 pixels in longer dimension, maximum 5 MB). Submissions open October 25, 2024. Entry deadline: November 24, 2024.
