From My Perspective 6th Annual National Exhibition

The Virginia Beach Art Center presents its 6th annual national exhibition exploring viewpoint and perspective. Artists from across the United States and US territories are invited to exhibit their work. The exhibition runs May 3 - June 2, 2024, with an opening reception on Friday, May 3 at 6pm - 8pm. All 2D and 3D media are welcome (no video or audio artwork). Total prize money is $2,000, including 1st Place ($700), 2nd Place ($500), 3rd Place ($250), Judges Choice ($150), four Honorable Mentions ($100 each), and a Best Packed award ($75).

Eligibility: Artists must be 18 or older and reside in the United States or US territories. All work must be original, produced within the last five years, and not previously exhibited at Virginia Beach Art Center. Work must be signed and appropriate for all viewers. Artists must include a 50-75 word interpretive statement with their submission. If submitting AI-generated artwork, disclosure is required. Digitally produced artwork must be in limited editions of 100 or less. All artworks must be for sale and remain on the premises for the duration of the exhibition.

Submission Requirements: Submit 3-5 images via CaFe (callforentry.org). Entry fee is $35 for up to three works, plus $5 for each additional work up to five total. Submission deadline is Saturday, March 30 at midnight MDT. Notifications will be sent Tuesday, April 9. Shipped works must arrive April 23-26. Hand-delivered works are accepted April 23-26 by arrangement or April 30 for local drop-off. Works cannot exceed 40 pounds; 2D works may not exceed 64" wide including frame; free-standing 3D works may not exceed 36" in length or width. 2D works on canvas 3/4" or smaller must be framed. Hanging works must have wire (no claw hooks) within the top 1/3 of the frame. Artists are responsible for return shipping and must provide pre-paid UPS or FedEx labels. Commission is 65% to artist, 35% to Virginia Beach Art Center. Payment for sales will be made within 30 days of exhibition closing.
