FRESH: Metalsmith Exhibition in Print 2011

The Society of North American Goldsmiths invites submissions of recent work from the international community of jewelers and metalsmiths for FRESH: Metalsmith Exhibition in Print 2011. Works will be selected by Lola Brooks, Studio Jeweler and Educator, and Cindi Strauss, Curator of Modern and Contemporary Decorative Arts and Design at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.

Eligibility: Open to all jewelers, designers, and metalsmiths, including students 18 years of age or older. Applicants need not reside in the United States. All work must be original and produced within the last two years (2009 or later). Objects made from commercial kits or commercially available plans are not eligible. Applicants are strongly encouraged, but not required, to apply with images that have not been widely circulated in Metalsmith or other publications.

Requirements: Submit digital images of up to 4 original works (detail views acceptable, but maximum 4 images total). All works must be accompanied by title, material, dimensions, and year of completion. Artists must submit an artist statement (1000 character limit) and a one-page resume. Application fee is $35 (non-refundable). SNAG members may use a coupon code for a $10 discount. Payments are made via CaFÉ website with Visa or MasterCard only. Submission deadline: December 10, 2010 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Notification by email: February 14, 2011. High-quality jpegs of accepted work due: February 25, 2011. Exhibition in Print 2011 published: Fall 2011. By submitting images, the artist agrees that Metalsmith magazine and SNAG have the right to retain and duplicate these images for marketing, publishing, and display on the SNAG website and e-newsletters, with no compensation required.
