Freedom Isn't Free

Submit your art inspired by what freedom means. Are we free? What is the cost of freedom? This exhibition invites the outsider, the lowbrow, and the macabre.

Memento Mori Gallery & Tattoo is a lowbrow/outsider contemporary art gallery located in the 40West Arts District in Lakewood, Colorado. The gallery is part of the art walk circuit and located in the same shopping center as Casa Bonita. The gallery gets good foot traffic on First Fridays. This First Friday will have free arcade games with gift certificate giveaways for high scores.

Accepts 2D and 3D artwork. Entry fee is $25 per piece; artists can submit up to 2 pieces. Artwork must be for sale, with 40% of sale going to the gallery. Pieces must be ready to hang or display physically (digital artwork will not be displayed unless printed and framed/mounted properly). "Ready to Hang" means hanging hardware is already attached—plain canvas without hanging wire is not acceptable. Hanging wire is preferred; no adhesive mounts. Work must be able to hang from a hook or nail. Photographic work depicting another artist's artwork will not be accepted without express permission from the artist. Out-of-state artists are responsible for shipping costs to and from the gallery.
