Freedom

This exhibition, themed Freedom, explores the many dimensions of liberation—personal, political, cultural, and creative—through the lens of contemporary artists from across the country. The exhibit features a wide range of mediums including painting, sculpture, photography, mixed media, and installation, inviting viewers to reflect on what freedom means in different contexts and to different communities.

The exhibition runs from July 3-August 16, 2026 at the Sedona Arts Center, 15 Art Barn Road, Sedona, AZ 86336. The opening reception is July 3, 2026, 4-6pm. Emerging to professional artists, 18 years and older can apply. Artwork must be made within the last 3 years and cannot have been on display in any other Sedona Arts Center exhibition. Up to three pieces per artist can be submitted in JPEG format with a minimum resolution of 300 DPI. The entry fee is $30 (non-refundable).

Monetary awards will be given for First Place/Best of Show ($500), Second Place ($250), and Third Place ($150). Honorable mention awards will be awarded at the discretion of the jurors with no monetary amount attached. A People's Choice Award is announced at the end of the show with no monetary award. Work being shipped must be received by June 29, 2026 or hand-delivered by June 30, 2026. Notifications will be sent by June 5, 2026. Sedona Arts Center will retain a 40% commission on all sales. Payment for artwork sold occurs in the month following the sale.
