Fragments - Juried Exhibition

Fragments is a juried exhibition held at Strata Gallery in Santa Fe, New Mexico, running from January 3 - January 21, 2023. The exhibition will feature artists whose work expresses and articulates the myriad, exciting and challenging ways in which our reality has become fragmented. All artwork that addresses or involves fragmentation, hybridization, or cross-fertilization is eligible, including work exploring Neo-Cubist spatial fragmentation, Modernist conflation of surface and depth, Post-Modernist marriage of disparate styles and iconography, digital pixelation, and literal material fragments in collage and assemblage.

Artists may submit 3-6 images of work in the following media: painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, photography, and mixed media. Wall-mounted work has a maximum size of 40x40 inches (12 inches deep for wall-mounted sculpture) and maximum weight of 25 lbs. All artwork must be ready to hang/display with proper hardware. The submission deadline is November 1, 2022. Entry fee is $35 for the first three submissions, with $10 per additional submission (maximum of 6 total submissions). Notification of acceptance will be sent by December 1, 2022. Work delivery deadline is December 20, 2022. A reception will be held January 6, 2023, 5-8pm.

Prizes include $200 for Best of Show, $150 for Director's Choice, and $50 for Honorable Mention (2 awards). The juror is David Olivant, President and co-founder of Strata Gallery. Selection criteria include compliance with submission requirements, uniqueness and originality, visual impact, and demonstrated excellence of technique. Each artist handles the sale and shipping of sold artwork; Strata Gallery collects a 20% commission on sales. Unsold works may be picked up or returned on January 21, 2023 (12pm-2pm).
