Fractured: photo-eye Gallery 2020 Juried Exhibition

photo-eye Gallery invites submissions of photographic works exploring the concept of "Fractured" for their first-ever open call celebrating 40 years in business. Photographic works may include any light-based images or works created using any photographic process or materials. The exhibition will be juried by photo-eye Gallery staff, including Rixon Reed (Founder & Director), Anne Kelly (Gallery Director), Alexandra Jo (Gallery Assistant), Lucas Shaffer (Artist Relationships), and Vicki Bohannon (Preparator). The gallery is looking for new work, and submissions are also considered for future representation. A standard artist contract applies.

Fractured is an international call open to all artists making photographic work that has not been previously exhibited by photo-eye or appeared on their website. The exhibition will be installed at photo-eye Gallery, 541 South Guadalupe Street, Santa Fe, NM 87501, with digital representation online at photoeye.com/gallery. The entry fee is $35 for 3 submissions, with additional submissions costing $5 each (maximum 20 submissions per application). Applications will be evaluated on a per-artwork basis. Accepted artworks will be for sale at photo-eye Gallery, on their website, and on third-party platforms Artsy.net and 1stdibs.com, with photo-eye Gallery retaining a 50% commission from sales. Artists retain copyright to their images and will be credited in promotional materials.

Artwork must arrive at photo-eye Gallery "exhibition ready" between February 14-20, 2020. Maximum overall dimensions may not exceed 30 x 30 inches including framing/finishing. Photographs must be printed and framed with archival materials and processes to professional standards. Framed photographs must be ready to hang with hanging wire or D rings; sawtooth hangers are not permitted. Glass is not permitted; frames requiring glazing must use Plexiglas or similar shatterproof glazing. The exhibition runs February 28 - May 23, 2020. Artwork will be returned or available for pickup the first week of June 2020. All artwork is insured while installed or stored at photo-eye Gallery; photo-eye Gallery is not responsible for damage or loss during shipping. Jury notifications will be sent January 20, 2020.
