About This Call

Fractured Horizons is a prestigious multidisciplinary art exhibition featured in NYCxDESIGN's Spotlight program, exploring the relationship between industrial legacy and posthuman futures. The exhibition examines three themes: Legacy and Rupture (impacts of industrialization on man-made landscapes), Horizons of the Posthuman City (spaces shaped by technology and ecology), and Fractured Narratives (tensions between industrial pasts and speculative futures).

The exhibition takes place at PI Art Center Gallery in Manhattan from May 16-23, 2026. Artists can submit up to 4 images or 1 video per series (maximum 5 total samples). Two-dimensional works should not exceed 100 cm x 100 cm, three-dimensional works should not exceed 50 cm x 50 cm x 50 cm, and video works should not exceed 1920 x 1080 pixels. Accepted formats include JPEG, PDF, and MP4. The submission fee is $36 USD (non-refundable). Entry deadline is April 15, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. MDT.

Selected artists receive multiple benefits: up to 3 artworks will receive Honorable Mention awards with $500 each; artworks will be promoted for sale through the online exhibition; artists will be featured in global media coverage reaching over 200 outlets; selected works may be featured in magazines and publications; all artists receive a digital certificate of participation and a free online profile page on the Biafarin platform; exhibition links remain active indefinitely for long-term visibility. Artists are also invited to apply for the 2025 Joint Exhibition at the University of Pennsylvania Museum. This opportunity is open to all visual artists worldwide, including painting, illustration, photography, video, sound art, digital and new media art, AR/VR, sculpture, crafts, decorative arts, jewelry, book arts, fiber arts, textile arts, and paper art.
