Fourth Annual CageSpace Show

Organized by GSU students for GSU students, the Art Student Union fall 2018 juried exhibition will present works in a variety of media at the newly renovated CageSpace in downtown Atlanta from November 8th through November 29th, 2018. This call is only for current undergraduate and graduate students of the Georgia State University Ernest G. Welch School of Art and Design. All work must be original and completed in the past year. All media will be considered including, but not limited to, two or three-dimensional works, video, audio, installation, and performance. CageSpace is not climate controlled, but does have two dehumidifiers installed in the gallery.

Each artist may submit up to three individual works for consideration, with a total of only three media attachments. For example, if submitting three works, you may submit one attachment per work; if submitting only one work, you may submit three detailed attachments of that work. Audio and video submissions are also accepted, but each counts as one of the three total possible media submissions. Artists must submit images in JPEG format labeled with the artist's last name followed by the corresponding entry number (ex: jones1.jpg). Detail images must include the word DETAIL in the file name (ex: jones1detail.jpg). Do not send images that contain borders or text that is not part of the original work. Incorrectly labeled images or images of poor or distracting quality may be rejected. Original video or audio can be any length.

Applicants will be notified of acceptance by November 3rd and must deliver accepted work to CageSpace either on Tuesday, November 6th, 11am-1pm or Wednesday, November 7th, 11am-1pm. Accepted work must arrive ready to hang or install. Most works on paper (photo, drawings, prints, etc.) require framing. Canvases will need hanging hardware already installed on the back and sculptures/installations must arrive with any necessary installation hardware and instructions. Any work that arrives not ready to hang or in an unprofessional state may be rejected. Entry fee: $5.00.
