About This Call

VISIBLE / INVISIBLE is a photography exhibition exploring the shifting boundary between exposure and protection in queer life. The exhibition gathers photographers who examine what we reveal, conceal, stage, and guard through portraiture, documentation, self-construction, abstraction, and intimacy. Works question who controls the frame and who benefits from what is made visible, moving between radiance and presence to privacy, coded language, erasure, and the architectures of safety. The exhibition centers agency: choosing when to step into the light and when to hold something sacred.

The exhibition runs August 6 – September 17, 2026 in Mexico City. The submission deadline is March 27, 2026. Entry fee is $25.00. International artists are eligible to apply. Jurors include abdiel j. lópez, a queer cultural curator based between Los Angeles and Mexico City, and Micheal Swank, artist, curator, and founder of The Bureau of Queer Art. Two additional jurors will be announced.
