About This Call
The Lincoln Center is a City-owned cultural facility with two art galleries, two theatres, and a conference center. The Visual Arts Program promotes and nourishes the creation and appreciation of the visual arts through diverse exhibitions, programs and projects. The Center presents 8-10 rotating exhibitions each year in a newly renovated self-contained art gallery of 1,450 square feet, and a smaller gallery in the main lobby suitable for two-dimensional work only, with 46 linear feet.
The Lincoln Center seeks visually compelling exhibitions that provide a unique and robust visual arts experience for the Colorado community. Artists and curators are encouraged to submit proposals and portfolios for consideration of solo and group exhibitions. Lincoln Center staff may elect to combine multiple artists for small group exhibitions and will determine the exhibition space for the applicant. Artists seeking to exhibit in the larger self-contained gallery may be invited to present engaging, educational programs such as a lecture, gallery talk, school program, demonstration or other special presentation that relates to, augments and/or interprets the exhibition. The Lincoln Center will provide some assistance with exhibition expenses such as shipping, installation and/or travel.
Applications must be completed by April 1, 2015 for consideration of 2017 exhibitions. Entry fee is $30.00. Residents of the Fort Collins, Colorado Growth Management Area may apply using a discount coupon. Applicants must submit a letter of intent (1000 words or less) describing exhibition goals, a description of a supporting educational presentation, artist statement and resume or CV; 6-8 image files (including up to 3 video files, if appropriate) of current work proposed for exhibition, formatted to Café guidelines, with work completed since 2012; installation and site-specific proposals must include sketches (in PDF or JPG files) showing how the installation will appear in Lincoln Center Art Gallery; and a resume or CV (5 pages or less, including reviews) in word or PDF formats that includes website address, exhibition history, lecture or gallery program experience, awards, and exhibition and program reviews. The jury process may take several months. If interested in presenting your work or have questions, the Lincoln Center will contact you directly.
