Drawing Rooms invites submissions for "formless," an exhibition running September 11 - October 5, 2025, with an opening reception on Saturday, September 13. The exhibition explores the concept of formlessness as a creative strategy, featuring works that project poetic lightness, fragility, and etherealness in weight, volume, color, or mass. Works may be atmospheric, meditative, mysterious, abstract, objective, narrative, or imbued with formal qualities of line and shape. The exhibition is dedicated to Bob Dylan and his influence on music and artistic boundaries.

Acceptable works include 2-dimensional pieces (painting, drawing, collage, textiles, photography, prints) and 3-dimensional works or video. All works must be original, for sale, and ready-to-hang. Works can be unframed, framed, or mounted on cradled panels using simple frames in white, black, or wood tones. Dropped-off works at Drawing Rooms can be any size; shipped 2D works must not exceed 18 x 24 inches and must be unframed. Unframed paper works must be durable enough for exhibition with clips.

Entry fee is $35. Artists may submit 1-5 JPG images (minimum 1,200 pixels on the shorter dimension). Submissions are due August 8, 2025, with artist notification on August 13. Works may be dropped off August 28 or September 2, or mailed to arrive by September 3. All works in the exhibit must be for sale with 60% proceeds to artists and 40% to Drawing Rooms. Sales commissions are paid within 30 days via check, PayPal, or cash. All works are insured while in Drawing Rooms' possession. Pickup is October 5 or 6, with mail-back starting October 7. Artists must be 18 or older. Drawing Rooms is a non-profit art gallery at the Mana Contemporary campus in Jersey City, producing exhibitions and public art projects since 2001.
