FORM + SPACE 2026

The Museum of Art - DeLand presents FORM + SPACE 2026, a national juried exhibition recognizing contemporary sculpture and diverse sculptural practices. Artists working in traditional and non-traditional sculptural materials are encouraged to apply. The exhibition will be curated by Museum of Art – DeLand staff along with guest juror Wade MacDonald.

Artists may submit up to three artworks for consideration at $10 per artwork. Each artwork requires a separate application with up to three images per artwork (minimum 1 image, maximum 3 images total per artwork, with high quality images of at least 1920 pixels on the longest side). One video file per artwork may be submitted in lieu of an additional photo. All work must be original and produced within the last three years. Artists from any country may apply; artists must be 18 or older.

Wall hanging works are restricted to a weight limit of no more than 50 pounds per hanging component. Works cannot be hung from the ceiling. The gallery ceiling height is 10 feet. The exhibition space is on the second floor; all work components must fit through an elevator with dimensions of 80in x 49in x 73in (door opening 80in x 40in). Artists with complex installations are responsible for their own installation and are recommended to make an appointment with museum staff. Installation instructions are strongly encouraged when shipping work.

Shipped artwork must arrive between September 10-13, 2026. Accepted artwork may also be hand delivered by appointment from September 18-20. Artists installing their own work can make an appointment during business hours; all work must be installed by September 27. Work may be picked up between January 2-4 or January 7-9, 2027. Artists are responsible for all pre-paid shipping costs and insuring work during shipping. Shipped artwork must include a prepaid return label and be shipped via FedEx or UPS.

Prizes include: First Place - $2,000 and an exhibition in one of the museum's galleries in 2026 or 2027; Second Place - $1,000; Third Place - $500. Additional awards will be presented as available. Winners must submit an IRS form W-9 to receive monetary awards, which will be paid within 30 days following the close of the exhibition. Artists are solely responsible for any taxes due. Artwork will be insured while on site at the museum. An exhibition catalog will be mailed to each artist after the exhibition. The Museum of Art – DeLand reserves the right to use images of accepted work for publicity and publication purposes.
