Form of Movement

Form of Movement is a juried exhibition seeking two-dimensional, wall-hanging artwork that investigates the concept of motion in all its forms. Artists are encouraged to interpret "movement" broadly—whether through the depiction of the human figure in action, the expressive sweep of a mark or brushstroke, or the illusion of movement created through rhythm, pattern, or spatial tension. The theme also invites conceptual and symbolic interpretations—how social, political, or emotional movements are expressed visually; how change, momentum, or energy is captured through line, texture, or form.

Open to original 2D wall-hanging works only in all mediums including photography, painting, collage, fiber/textile, mixed media, and printed works. No open-ended or poster prints; giclée prints are not permitted. Artwork must be of original design, by personal execution, and not previously shown at Bitfactory Gallery. Maximum size is 60 X 60 inches, not including frame. All artwork must be wired and ready to hang upon arrival. Wall hanging artwork must weigh less than 35 pounds. Unframed artwork edges must be finished with no staples. Canvas or cradled substrates may be no less than 1 3/8" deep.

Entry fee is $35 for 3 images; additional images may be submitted at $5.00 per image up to 10 images total. Deadline for entries is July 20, 2025. Artist notification is July 21, 2025. Shipped artwork must arrive by July 29, 2025. Hand delivery intake is Saturday, July 26, 2025, 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Exhibition opening reception is August 1, 2025, 6:00 - 9:00 p.m., with exhibition dates August 1-30, 2025. Artwork pickup is Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. All work must be available for sale. Bitfactory Gallery retains a 50% commission on sales, with payment within 31 days of exhibition closing. Artists are responsible for round-trip shipping charges and shipping insurance. Open to artists 18 years of age or older who are current residents of the United States and/or its territories.
