Force of Nature

Webster Arts is accepting submissions for Force of Nature, a Fall exhibition focusing on the use of 2D and 3D visual art to explore the energetic might of the natural world. The exhibition considers artworks of all mediums except video. From the magnitude of a storm that tears lives apart to the pinpoint accuracy of a flock's migration back to their nest, artists are invited to explore Nature's regular patterns of destruction and restoration, offering both the quantifiable and the mysterious, a recognition of the known and the unknown qualities of the world in which we live.

Open to all artists aged 18 or older residing in the US. Entry fee is $25 for 3 entries, $5 for each additional entry up to 10 images. Submit up to 10 JPEG digital images (1000-1920 pixels on longest side, 72 PPI, 5 MB maximum). Submission deadline is August 15, 2022 at 11:59 PM CST. Artists will be notified by email on August 24, 2022. Selected works must be shipped to or dropped off at Webster Arts by September 7, 2022 for the exhibition opening on September 9, 2022.

Framed wall pieces must be wired for hanging and no larger than 48" x 48". All wall works on paper must be framed. Three-dimensional works must not exceed 32" x 32" x 60" or weigh more than 50 pounds. All work must be original conception and execution of the artist listed on the application. No reproductions or work previously exhibited at Webster Arts galleries. An independent juror will select work for inclusion in the exhibit. Cash prizes include $250 Best in Show and two $100 Awards of Excellence. Sales are encouraged, with Webster Arts receiving a 30% commission. Exhibition dates are September 9-October 28, 2022.
