Footprint

Art Saint Louis presents "Footprint," a juried all media visual art exhibition featuring artworks that address the marks and impressions that we leave on this planet physically, emotionally, in society; our footprint as we walk through our lives. This can also apply to the marks left on the surface of an artwork. All explorations and interpretations of this theme are invited, with all media, styles and techniques encouraged.

Eligibility is open to artists 21 years of age and older living in the St. Louis, Missouri region and surrounding 200-mile radius. Artists must be residents of the St. Louis region/200-mile radius when the show begins on September 25, 2021. The exhibition will be presented at Art Saint Louis, 1223 Pine Street in downtown St. Louis, MO, with exhibition dates September 25-October 21, 2021. A free reception is scheduled for Saturday, September 25, 2021, 5-7 p.m. (subject to change). Co-jurors are artists Deborah Douglas and Matthew Isaacson.

Entry fee is $20 for Art Saint Louis members and $35 for non-members. Submit 1-6 images and up to 3 videos (1-6 total samples). Limit 3 original artworks in all media, styles, and techniques that respond to the theme. Artworks must be created/completed between 2018-2021. Works not previously exhibited in any juried exhibit in the St. Louis region during the 6 months prior to exhibit dates, and not previously exhibited at Art Saint Louis, are eligible. No ceiling installed work, no artworks sitting directly on the gallery floor. 2-D works must be framed or have pre-approved alternate professional presentation. Awards of Excellence will be selected by the exhibit jurors and include one $250 Best of Show Award of Excellence, four non-cash Awards of Excellence, and up to 3 Honorable Mentions. All five Award of Excellence recipients are eligible for the "Honor Awards 2023" ten-artist curated exhibit presented at Art Saint Louis (June 10-July 13, 2023). The entry deadline is July 9, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. MDT.
