Food Story - 2023

Food Story is a dual exhibition and publication opportunity presented by Gallerium for visual artists worldwide to express artistic interpretations of food and drinks. The call invites artworks exploring food in relation to family and friends gatherings, healthy foods, fast food culture, religious foods, fasting, diets, natural foods and drinks, food journeys, chefs, kitchens, cooking, restaurants, street foods, and traditional and cultural foods. Artworks that raise awareness about food appreciation, the importance of feeding people, and stopping nutrition resource waste are particularly encouraged. All abstract and representational artists working in 2 and 3-dimensional media are welcome to submit, including painting, drawing, illustration, photography, digital arts, sculpture, ceramics, and mixed media.

Submission is free of charge. Artists can submit up to 5 original artworks, with a maximum of 2 artworks selected per artist. Selected artists will pay a USD 40 selection fee. Work sample requirements: minimum 1 image, maximum 5 images. Artworks must be entirely the work of the entrant and not copies or derivatives of other copyrighted work. Artists must have all rights for presenting and publishing artworks internationally. Artworks created within the last 5 years are preferred, though there is no limit on creation year. There is no size limit for submitted artworks.

Selected artworks will be published in The Book of Arts: Food Story publication, available in both free online and print-on-demand formats, and will be exhibited online in the Food Story international smart group art exhibition from May 1-31, 2023. Selected artists receive publication in an exhibition catalogue, a digital exhibition poster, social media promotional badges, an artist profile page on the Biafarin platform, a digital certificate, and a report with analytics on artwork views, comments, engagement, and sales statistics. An exhibition press release will be published in art media.
