About This Call
Focus On Figures is an open call for artists to submit original artwork. All forms of 2D and 3D artwork are welcome, including paintings, drawings, sculptures, and other media. Entry fee is $20 per submission, with artists able to submit up to 5 works. Membership is not required.
All artwork must be originally created by the artist and cannot be copies, likenesses, or derivations of published works, photographs, or other artists' work. Work previously exhibited in North River Arts exhibitions, including satellite galleries, is not eligible. Artwork created during in-person or online workshops or classes cannot be submitted. There are no size restrictions, though artists with very large or heavy pieces should contact the organization before submitting.
Submissions must be high-quality JPEG images at least 1500 pixels on the longest edge with a maximum file size of 30 MB. Images should show only the artwork itself without matting, frames, or background distractions, and must be oriented correctly. All 2D work must be framed or gallery wrapped and wired for hanging (no sawtooth hangers). Sculptors must provide their own pedestals. Entry deadline is March 6, 2023. For questions about the prospectus, eligibility, artwork requirements, or other details, contact Liz Haywood-Sullivan at [email protected] or [email protected].
