Focus: Landscape and Architecture

Black Box Gallery is hosting a landscape and architecture juried group photography exhibition. The call seeks work exploring the process and diversity of observation, interpretation and documentation of landscape and architectural photography genres.

Submission Requirements: Submit 1-5 images as high resolution Tiff or JPEG files. Entry fee is $35.00. International artists are eligible. Up to 5 applications are allowed per artist.

Juror: Todd Johnson, founder and director of Black Box Gallery, holds an MFA in Photography from the San Francisco Art Institute. He has served as a portfolio reviewer for Photolucida and juried The Drawers Program for Blue Sky Gallery. Johnson has worked as an independent photography curator and college photography instructor for 15 years in Portland.

Exhibition Details: The exhibition runs January 1-20, 2019, with an opening reception on Friday, January 4, 6-8:00 pm. The juror will select 24 photographs for exhibition at the gallery and an additional 30 photographs for the online gallery annex. All 54 photographs will be included in a catalog available for purchase on Blurb Books.

Production and Sales: Black Box Gallery provides free printing, matting, and framing for all selected work. Prints are produced on an Epson Stylus Pro archival inkjet printer on Epson Premium Luster Photo paper in a color-calibrated environment. Exhibition prints are kept in flat files after the show for future promotion and sale. Black Box Gallery takes a 50% commission on all sales, with 50% going to the photographer. All rights remain with the photographer, and no sale or printing of files will occur without prior consent. Artists may request that prints be for exhibition and promotion only, not for sale.
