About This Call
Fluid Patterns is a national open call group exhibition exploring water in the age of climate change. The show examines water as both a vital resource and a force of disruption—through flood, drought, rising seas, and shifting weather. Artists are invited to explore how patterns—natural, visual, ephemeral or symbolic—emerge from water's behavior and our relationship to it.
This exhibition welcomes work of all media, including painting, sculpture, photography, video, and digital art. Artists may enter up to three original works that are new to the local public and have not been previously shown at East End Arts or the local area. Work must fit within the theme and include 1-3 images or video samples, a brief description including size, medium, and installation needs, and a CV or short bio. The exhibition will be held from November 1 – December 13, 2026, with jury selection occurring October 1-5, 2025.
Entry fees are $40 for the first submission (non-members) or $20 for EEAC members, with additional submissions at $20 (non-members) or $10 (members). All submissions must be completed in a single transaction. Prizes include Best in Show ($500), 1st Place ($250), and 2nd Place ($150), with Honorable Mentions also awarded. The exhibition is juried by artists Marta Baumiller and Rainer Gross. Applicants must be age 16 and over. Physical artwork must be delivered between October 13-24, 2026.
