Floyd Center for the Arts 2018 Juried Show

The Floyd Center for the Arts, located in Floyd, Virginia, invites visual media artists to submit work for exhibition in this juried show. The nonprofit community arts center, housed in a renovated dairy barn, promotes the area's artistic movement through exhibitions and events.

Eligibility: Open to all artists 18 years of age or older. Work must be original and executed within the past two years. Accepted media includes painting, sculpture, graphics, ceramics, textiles, mixed media, photography, time-based/new media, and installation. Handicrafts are not eligible. Video, audio, and performing works are not accepted. Artists may submit up to three artworks. Entry fee is $40 (or $35 for Floyd Center members with coupon code JAX18). Artwork will be selected by juror W. Dorsey Taylor, owner of LinDor Arts Gallery in Roanoke, Virginia.

Prizes: $500 first place, $300 second place, $100 third place, five honorable mentions, and $50 people's choice award. Exhibition dates are August 10 through October 6, 2018, with opening reception on Saturday, August 11, 2018, 5-7pm. Application deadline is Friday, July 6, 2018 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Notifications will be sent no later than Friday, July 20, 2018. Shipped work must arrive between Monday, July 30 and Saturday, August 4, 2018. In-person drop-off is available Saturday, August 4, Monday, August 6, and Tuesday, August 7, 11am-3pm. Work pickup is Monday or Tuesday, October 7 or 8, 2018, 11am-3pm.
