Flowers and Trees

The MVA Gallery (Modern Visual Arts) invites artists, photographers, and sculptors of all levels to submit original artwork to this exhibition. This is a national call for entries celebrating the beauty of flowers and trees in life and art. Flowers and trees can appear in expansive vistas or intimate close-ups, in bloom, in transition, or in decay. Images may include human figures, wildlife, or structures in natural, artificial, or urban settings. No restrictions exist on style and technique—artwork can be representational or abstract, lucid or enigmatic, muted or colorful, harmonious or chaotic, familiar or exotic, real or imagined. Accepted mediums include painting, watercolor, printmaking, mixed media, digital, pastel, encaustic, sculpture, fiber, drawing, and photography.

The MVA Gallery is located in historic Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, part of the third largest metropolitan area in the state. Bethlehem has a vibrant arts and cultural life with numerous galleries and nationally acclaimed festivals. The city's 18th century historic district is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors annually. Located one hour from New York City, Bethlehem has become an art destination for collectors and art professionals.

Entry fee is $35.00 for 3 images, with additional images available for $5.00 each up to 9 maximum. Submit 3-9 JPEG images (under 5 MB, minimum 1200 pixels on longest side) through CAFE (CallForEntry). Include title, medium, size, price, and year of completion for each work. Entry deadline: January 5, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Notification to artists: on or about January 27, 2025. Art arrival deadline: March 3, 2025. Exhibition dates: March 8 - April 5, 2025. Artwork will be returned April 9-15, 2025.

Artwork specifications: Paintings must have stretched wire attached to the back (sawtooth hangers not acceptable). Maximum 48 inches (framed) on longest side and 45 lbs. Sculpture maximum 24 inches on any dimension. Photographs should be framed in black or white frames with white or off-white mats. Artists are responsible for all shipping and insurance costs both to and from the gallery. A prepaid return shipping label must be enclosed. Artwork without a return label will be considered abandoned and donated.

Awards include an Art of Distinction Award (special future exhibition), an Annual Grand Prize (New York City exhibition opportunity), and a Director's Choice Award ($200). For sales, artists receive 70% of the final sale price; the gallery receives 30%. Artists retain all rights to their work and grant the gallery rights to use selected images for publicity, marketing, and archival purposes.
