Flourish: A National Juried Exhibition of Floral & Botanical Artworks

Flourish is a national juried exhibition of floral and botanical artworks open to all functional and non-functional works in 2D, 3D, fine art, and fine craft in all mediums and styles. Work must depict flowers and/or plants as the focal point, though other objects may be included. The exhibition is open to all artists 18 or older residing in the United States. All work must be original, created without the aid of an instructor or kit, and produced within the last eight years.

The d'Art Center is partnering with the Historic Garden Club of Norfolk during Historic Garden Week. The opening reception is Thursday, April 28, 2022, 5:30-7:30pm, coinciding with the Historic Garden Tour in Norfolk. Local Garden Club Members will select 6 artworks from the exhibition to create flower arrangements inspired by the selected works, which will be revealed at the reception. The exhibition runs Saturday, April 23 - Saturday, May 21, 2022, at d'Art Center's Main Gallery, located at 740 Boush Street in Norfolk's NEON Arts District.

Entry fee is $35 for 3 works (one image per submission), with additional submissions at $5 each (maximum 10 total). Submissions must include 3-10 images. Artists must submit 3-10 images minimum. Work cannot exceed 50 pounds or 60 inches in its longest dimension (restrictions may be waived by contacting the gallery manager). All work must be hang/presentation ready. Accepted works must arrive by 5pm April 16, 2022. Notifications will be sent by email by 5pm Monday, April 4, 2022. Awards: 1st Place $500, 2nd Place $300, 3rd Place $150. Gallery commission on sales is 60/40 (60% artist, 40% d'Art Center). The exhibition is juried by gallery manager Amanda Bradley and sculptor Diane Husson.
