Flourish: A Juried National Exhibition of Floral and Botanical Artworks During Garden Week

Flourish is a juried national exhibition of floral and botanical artworks open to all functional, non-functional, 2D, 3D, fine art, and fine art craft in all mediums and styles. Work must depict flowers and/or plants as the focal point, though other objects may be included. The exhibition is held during The Historic Garden Week of Virginia, with the reception capping off Norfolk's Garden Tour. Local Garden Club Members will create flower arrangements inspired by the artwork in the exhibition that will be revealed during the Flourish reception.

Entry fee is $35 for 3 submissions (one image per artwork submission), with each additional submission up to 10 works costing $5 per submission. Artists must submit 3-10 images. Work must arrive hang or pedestal ready with no sawtooth hangers. 2D works must have a hanging wire or cleat and be framed or have finished edges. Work may be no longer than 60" in its longest dimension and weigh no more than 50 pounds. Size and weight restrictions may be waived by contacting the Gallery Director at [email protected] prior to submission. The exhibition will be featured both in person and digitally on d'Art Center's archive site.

Exhibition dates are Saturday, April 20 - Saturday, May 11, 2024. Reception is Friday, April 26, 2024, 5:30-7:30pm. Accepted works must arrive by 5pm Saturday, April 13, 2024. Notifications will be sent by email by 5pm Monday, March 18, 2024. The juror is Nathaniel Cody of The Norfolk Botanical Gardens. Awards: 1st Place $500, 2nd Place $300, 3rd Place $150. Gallery commission on sales is 60/40 (60% artist, 40% d'Art Center). Artists are responsible for shipping costs. Works must include pre-paid return labels through FedEx or UPS. Works packaged with packing peanuts will be returned immediately and not included in the exhibition. Works not picked up within one month of the exhibition end become property of d'Art Center.
