About This Call
The Elliott Museum invites artists and photographers living in Martin, St. Lucie, Palm Beach, Indian River, and Okeechobee Counties to submit original artworks and photography for a juried exhibition. The exhibition runs Friday, December 16th, 2016 through Saturday, January 28th, 2017 at 825 NE Ocean Blvd. on Hutchinson Island in Stuart, FL. Exhibition hours are daily 10am to 5pm, closed Christmas and New Year's days.
Eligibility is open to all 2D and 3D artists and photographers residing in the five specified Florida counties, with a special category for artists ages 14-17. Entrants may submit up to three pieces in any media (artwork, photography, or sculpture completed after December 1st, 2014) that have not been previously exhibited at the House of Refuge, Court House Cultural Center, or Elliott Museum. Giclées and prints are accepted in photography and digital art only. Entry fee is $30 for one entry, $35 for two entries, and $40 for three entries (maximum). Additional media fees of $5 apply for second and third images. Elliott Museum Members and Arts Council of Martin County members receive their third entry free.
Artists will be notified of acceptance on or before Friday, November 18th, 2016 via email. Hand delivery of selected artwork is required on Sunday, December 4th, 2016 from 10am-2pm. No shipped artwork will be accepted. All accepted work must be for sale, with the Elliott Museum deducting a 40% commission from sales. Artists will be paid by February 10th, 2017. Unsold artwork must be picked up by Sunday, January 29th, 2017 at 10am-2pm.
Awards include: Best in Show ($500), Best of Category for Original 2D Artwork, 3D Artwork, Photography, and Student Categories ($250 each), and four Merit Awards ($100 each). A People's Choice Award will also be presented. Theme is "Florida's Wild!" and can include wildlife, wild places, wild people, wild parties, or creative interpretations. Submissions are accepted via CaFE beginning Friday, September 9th with a deadline of Friday, November 11th at 11:59 pm Mountain time. For questions, email [email protected].
