Flight/Vuelo Exhibition

Flight/Vuelo is an exhibit of art celebrating the beauty and spirit of birds and birding. Southern Arizona is a mecca for bird watching and has some of the best birding sites in the world, with confirmed sightings of more than 200 species of birds.

Artists are urged to enter work that is innovative in concept and approach, whether representational or abstract. All mediums are accepted. Work must have been completed within the last 24 months and cannot have been previously displayed at Tubac Center of the Arts. All work must be the original creation of the artist. Giclee reproductions are not permitted. Up to four works may be entered for consideration.

Entry fee is $36 ($32 with TCA Member discount), with an additional $5 per entry image for entries 2-4 ($3 each with TCA Member discount). All work must be for sale, and TCA will retain a 40% commission. Artists are responsible for shipping to and from TCA. All artwork must arrive ready to hang. If framed, work must be suitably matted (white, black or neutral colors preferred), simply framed and firmly wired with no saw tooth hangers. No art may be removed from the exhibit prior to the close on Sunday, April 24, 2016, including sold art. Unsold work will be shipped back to the artist after the close of the exhibition. Artists must provide a barcoded preprinted prepaid shipping label for return of artwork. Jury notifications will be sent the week of February 22, 2016. Shipped art is due March 11-15, 2016, and hand-delivered art is due Monday, March 14, 2016. The opening reception is Friday, March 18, 2016, 5-7pm. Art must be picked up Monday, April 25, 2016.
