About This Call

This public art opportunity seeks a three-dimensional artwork for FIS' new corporate headquarters tower, located adjacent to Alfred duPont Place and facing the primary view corridor of Riverside Avenue. The artwork should be a sculpture appropriate for permanent exterior exhibit and capable of withstanding hurricane-force winds. The project focuses on specified mediums including digital art projected onto stone substrate.

Artists must be over 21 years old, not currently enrolled in a formal degree program, and have been creating and installing public art for more than three years. The project is open to international, national, and regional artists. Application requirements include an artist statement, current resume emphasizing public art experience and public commissions, a minimum of 2 completed projects shown in 4-8 images and up to 2 videos (120 seconds each), a colorized sketch or computer rendering of the proposed concept design shown from front, back, and side with dimensions included, and a narrative describing the artwork's symbolism, intention, and technical detail.

The public art budget is $127,500, which includes all costs to the artist: artwork proposals, artwork, mounting materials, shipping/delivery, insurance, travel, and applicable sales tax. The client will provide site preparation and assist with installation. The project timeline includes artist selection by March 24, 2022, commissioned artist notification on March 25, 2022, contract execution on March 28, 2022, final design due April 8, 2022, and site preparation and installation June 27-30, 2022. Artist services required include proposal development, maquette development, final design presentation, coordination with FIS and city permitting, fabrication and installation, lighting consultation as needed, and photographic documentation.
