First Annual Foto Forum Santa Fe Photography Award

Foto Forum Santa Fe announces an open call for the First Annual Foto Forum Santa Fe Photography Award, an international photography competition open to emerging and established artists. Photographers are invited to submit up to twelve images from a related body of work that is ready for exhibition.

First Place Award includes a $1,000 cash prize, a two-month solo exhibition at the Foto Forum Santa Fe gallery (located downtown, a short walk from SITE Santa Fe and the Santa Fe Railyard), and a $500 stipend towards delivering and returning the work. Second Place Award includes a $500 cash prize, placement of 3 prints in the gallery art racks, and a two-month featured exhibition on the organization's website. The juror, Harry Gamboa, Jr., will select the winner based on creativity, cohesion, maturity, and quality of the individual photographs. Results will be announced in mid-June, with the exhibition opening August 2nd, 2021.

Eligibility is open to all artists 18 years or older. Entry fee is $45 ($35 early discount through March 2nd, $40 full price March 2nd-April 15th, $45 late fee April 16th-May 4th). Students, seniors, and members can email for a $10 discount coupon. Submissions must include 8-12 images. Video submissions are not accepted, but video stills with descriptions in the Artist Statement are permitted. The selected winner will work with Sage Paisner to curate the final exhibition, which may include works not submitted with the application.
