Firehouse Art Center - 2013 Call for Artists

Firehouse Art Center invites local and national artists to submit proposals for individual and group shows of any and all visual art mediums for the year 2013. The center will host 6 unique professional artist exhibitions throughout the year. This is an opportunity for solo exhibition space with a proposed theme of your choice.

Group show themes being considered include: Fiber Art (using textiles such as fabric, yarn, and natural and synthetic fibers, focusing on the materials and manual labour involved); Agricultural (encouraging artists to investigate the visual resources of agriculture); and Day of the Dead (a traditional celebration of ancestors originating in central Mexico, with artwork honoring the flavor of the holiday while stretching the boundaries of myths and traditions). The mission of Firehouse Art Center is to raise cultural awareness and understanding of the arts in the regional community through classes, lectures, events, and visual art exhibits of regional and national artists. Jurors will be looking for submissions that provide a unique and diverse art experience. Contemporary work is encouraged.

Submission requirements: $35 entry fee, 6 images (300 dpi, jpeg), artist bio, statement, exhibition proposal, and documentation of artwork submitted (title, dimension, media, price). All accepted artists are required to ship their work and join the Firehouse Art Center ($45/yr). Member artists receive an artist page on the website.
