About This Call

Fire 2024 is an international juried exhibition and publication opportunity exploring artistic interpretations of fire. The call is open to all visual artists worldwide working in any 2D or 3D art medium, including painting, drawing, illustration, photography, digital arts, sculpture, ceramics, mixed media, and more. Both abstract and representational interpretations are welcome.

The theme of fire encompasses multiple interpretations: elemental fire (flames, infernos, embers), emotional fire (passion, anger, desire), transformation and renewal, cultural and mythological symbolism, environmental concerns, inner fire and motivation, and abstract exploration. Artworks created within the last 5 years are preferred, though there is no limit on creation year. There is no size limit for submissions.

Selected artworks will be exhibited online from May 29 to July 29, 2024. A subset of selected works will be published in The Book of Arts: Fire series, available in free online and paid print formats distributed internationally. Selected artworks will also be promoted for sales through the online exhibition. All selected artists receive a lifelong exhibition link, digital certificate, online profile page on the Biafarin platform, exhibition catalogue listing, digital promotional badges, and access to analytics reports. An exhibition press release will be published in art media, and some artworks may be featured in magazines and books within the Biafarin art network.

Submission is free. Up to 5 artworks may be submitted, with a maximum of 2 accepted per artist. Selected artists pay a USD 40 selection fee, with a money-back guarantee available until the exhibition opening. The jury process uses a two-phase system: initial Yes/No selection followed by scoring from 1-5 by jury members, with highest-scoring artworks selected.
