Fine Fiber and Folk Art Show - Third Annual

The Fine Fiber & Folk Art Show is a juried exhibition presented by the Northwest Area Arts Council (NAAC) to display the talents of fiber artisans and folk artists from around the country and encourage appreciation for handmade work.

The exhibition runs from July 6 - August 14, 2009 in the galleries of McHenry County College in Crystal Lake, Illinois. It is presented in concert with the Midwest Fiber & Folk Art Fair, held during the third week of July, which expects over 10,000 visitors. Awards of more than $500 will be presented during the Fair.

The show is open to all artists 18 years old and over. Accepted media include wearable and decorative fiber, basketry, wood, paper, leather, jewelry, metal, sculpture, ceramics, and other media. Artists may submit up to three works with a size limit of 8 feet on any side. Submit 1-6 images total (up to two images per work). Works need not be for sale, but sold works are subject to a 25% commission. Entry fees: $20 (Early Bird deadline April 30, 11:59pm CST) or $25 (May 1 - June 1, 11:59pm CST). Payments accepted through CAFE, PayPal, or check. Acceptance notifications will be sent by June 7, 2009. Accepted works must be received by June 29, 2009. Artists are responsible for all shipping charges and must keep works available for the entire exhibit duration with no substitutions allowed.
