Fine Arts Exhibition 2018 of the Decatur Arts Festival

The Decatur Arts Alliance invites artists working in all media to participate in the Fine Arts Exhibition of the 30th Annual Decatur Arts Festival, held May 22–June 10, 2018. The exhibition is a juried multimedia presentation featuring 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional works selected by a panel of three jurors on the basis of creative excellence and quality of execution.

The exhibition will be held in the Dalton Gallery at Agnes Scott College, 141 E. College Ave., Decatur, Georgia 30030. All works must be original and completed within the last two years. Artwork must fit through a standard door and be ready for hanging with necessary hardware in place. Video presentations are eligible but will be shown on a flat screen or computer monitor, as the gallery does not offer projection facilities. Artists entering installation pieces must be prepared to personally deliver, install, and de-install the work. Entry fee is $30.00 for up to three entries. Artists may submit 1-3 images and 0-3 videos per entry. The opening reception is Tuesday, May 22, from 5-7 pm. The exhibition closes with the Last Call party on Sunday, June 10, from 4-6 pm, which will include selected artists' talks.

Awards include Best of Show ($1,000), Gold Award ($700), and Silver Award ($500). Purchase awards totaling $2,500 are selected by the City of Decatur, Decatur Business Association, and Decatur Downtown Development Authority for the City of Decatur's public art collection. Sales are encouraged, with the Decatur Arts Alliance collecting a 25% commission on all artwork sold. Work will be insured for the duration of the exhibition. No work accepted may be withdrawn before the close of the exhibition, and accepted artwork cannot be substituted or have its sales price changed.
