About This Call
This is a juried exhibition running January 10 - March 8, 2020. The show seeks 2-D and 3-D works as well as audio and video work exploring social, historical, and political issues. Artists are invited to share their perspective and voice on contemporary issues. The gallery has one computer set up to show looping video; any other audio/visual technology must be provided by the artist. Outdoor display area is available for exterior sculpture.
Entry fee is $35.00. Work sample requirements: submit 1-3 total samples, which may include up to 3 images, 3 audio files, and/or 3 video files. All accepted entries must be ready for gallery installation. Two-dimensional works must be framed or gallery wrapped to museum quality with screw eyes or track mount clips and hanging wire. Three-dimensional work must be ready for installation; artists are responsible for assembling their own pieces or understand the gallery will assemble to the best of its abilities. Works not ready for installation or not representative of submitted images are subject to rejection. No work substitutions are permitted.
Kelwood Contemporary Art takes a 30% commission on all works sold. Artists must include this commission when determining their selling price. Works chosen for the exhibit will have "On Premises" insurance only; each artist must submit a declared market value on the entry form. No insurance coverage is provided for work in transit. Hand-delivered work must arrive by January 5; shipped work must arrive between December 31 - January 7 (UPS or FedEx preferred, with return shipping labels included). Unsold artwork must be picked up by March 15 or will be returned during the week of March 15. KCA reserves the right to reproduce selected works for publicity purposes.
