About This Call
Finding Joy is a curated exhibition at Shoebox Projects in Los Angeles, an alternative art space in the Brewery Arts Complex. The exhibition focuses on the joy we allow into our lives, the joy we seek to live better lives, and the joy we give to others. Curated by Kristine Schomaker.
Artwork can be any media including drawing, video, painting, sculpture, digital, and intermedia, but must address the theme of Finding Joy. Video work must include a monitor. Sculptures must include a pedestal as appropriate. 2D work is limited to 48" x 48", and 3D work is limited to 60" x 36" x 36". All work must be able to be dropped off and picked up at designated times; work cannot be shipped via USPS and storage is not available. By submitting work, artists agree that work will be available during the exhibition dates and will deliver and pick up on specified dates.
Entry fee is $30 for 3 required images. Up to 7 additional pieces (for a total of 10) may be submitted for an additional $5 each. Video entries are limited to 5 total. The exhibition runs October 20 to November 10, 2024. Drop off is Sunday, October 13th, 3-5pm. Opening reception is Sunday, October 20th, 3-5pm.
